Dakota presides over the Senate, sets the meeting agendas, and makes appointments to Senate committees.

The Senate President Pro Tempore assists the President of the Senate in setting weekly meeting agendas, managing the members of the ASOSU Senate, and presides over meetings of the ASOSU Senate in the Senate President's absence. The Senate President Pro Tempore is third in the line of succession to the ASOSU President if both the offices of ASOSU President and Vice President are simultaneously vacated.
